THE RED SQUIRREL 10K TRAIL RACE 2026

We are so proud that as a running community, our event has raised a grand total of £3,350. Which was divided between two local charities, Queenscourt Hospice and Southport Soup Kitchen.
Thank you, doesn’t seem enough for the incredible excitement, fun and hard work that everyone put in, runners & volunteers alike! The atmosphere could not have been better. With so many clubs, runners, volunteers bringing a community together and for that, we are truly grateful. It was a very special day and we can’t wait for next year!

Wherever you finished you’ve achieved a fantastic result on a slightly undulating course and should be very proud!
We simply couldn’t have put on the Red Squirrel 10k without the support and commitment of so many, a huge THANK YOU to:
- Natural England for allowing the event to take place.
- Ainsdale Sand Dunes and Ribble Estuary National Nature Reserves who allow us and actively support using the most beautiful venue to host the race. The help leading up to the event, the storage of equipment and the generous use of your land & intel – particularly from Saturday afternoon – is amazing. Ranger Charlotte’s expertise was critical to the success!
- Shoreside Primary School & Nursery who generously let us use their school for car parking. A fantastic head teacher who came to support on the day too.

- St John Ambulance who thankfully saw very little activity.
- Southport Gymnastics Club doing an amazing job with fund raising for their club with drinks and cake.
- Trail Blazing Events for managing the numbers and timings.

- Design and Personalise Ltd for the brilliant volunteer and race T-shirts.
Of course thank you again to our amazing Southport Strollers volunteers (and family & friends) We’re a genuinely so fortunate to attract decent people who willingly give up so much time to make events like this happen
And finally to our runners – as if no one came along we’d have no race to put on, THANK YOU ALL!
